Sea scallops are found in deep, cold ocean waters up to 200 meters deep – around the world. In the U.S., they are typically caught in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean and are a type of shellfish eaten all over the world. All cold water ocean scallops have a succulent sweet texture and are 100% white meat. Scallops have a delicate but distinct flavour that is often described as slightly sweet and buttery.
